Just when we had finally all forgotten about the famously mysterious Looble.com website launch, it surges back with another viral following…!
I’m glad it’s back to be honest! Over here at AlienSpore.com we like to talk about online mysteries as well as develop software! As the only website to my knowledge that had some news coverage related to Looble.com, we definitely benefited from the weird page as curious people found our website while searching for clues regarding the purpose of the site!
As we speak, all that can be found at Looble.com are the words, “Looble… Looble!“. We first heard about the website two months ago when someone brought it up in an IRC chat. We had some fun discussing it and joked around regarding what it could mean. If you browse back in AlienSpore News, you can see we made two posts about it! At the time, it somehow became a hot topic which eventually led to everybody randomly saying, looble looble!
We are busy people at AlienSpore.com and therefore quickly got side-tracked and forgot about Looble.com. We assume most people did as well, until last night!
Have you ever heard of the viral effect? Well that’s what happened on IRC yet again. A user by the name of Justin King created #Looble on FunNet.org and proceeded to advertise it in some large channels by simply saying, “Join #Looble!”. Before long, tons of people were entering the room. The viral effect came into play on myself, when I noticed one of my buddies was in a room named #Looble and so I immediately joined to see what was going on!
This is where the mystery regarding Looble.com either gets solved or gets very interesting. In the IRC channel, people were once again discussing the purpose of the Looble.com website and the meaning of Looble… Looble! Many of us tried to ask Justin King what was going on, but he went AFK and never said a word.
We were of course starting to get bored and figured this guy was probably just messing around or trying to take advantage of the Looble mystery to put himself in charge of what could possibly be a popular channel. At its peak, there were about 100 of us in the room, when people started leaving. Then suddenly, someone brought up something interesting…
After a little research, it turned out that there was a musician named Justin King. What makes this interesting is that, Le Bleu is his third and most successful solo album! This cannot be a coincidence. Le Bleu sounds like Looble, and if you remember our earlier research, when searching Google for, “Looble” the search engine asked, “Did you mean Lu Blue”. Also note that Bleu is french for Blue…
Woah! So has the whole Looble.com mystery been some sort of marketing strategy to increase sales of the Le Bleu album by Justin King? Well, in #Looble, there is no actual link to either Looble.com or Justin Kings music site. If this we’re an attempt to market the CD, shouldn’t this user post a link? Maybe he’s waiting for more people to enter the channel… who knows!
