Justin King is still AFK in #Looble on FunNet.org. We have no idea why, though there are plenty of different ideas circulating around right now!

First off, normally nobody would care if a user by the name of Justin King was idle on IRC. When I go idle, nobody even says welcome back when I return! However, in this particular case, the user created the channel #Looble before going idle! Well isn’t that interesting?

For those who still think that isn’t interesting, consider that back in June a website that contained only the text “Looble… Looble” became a hot topic of discussion. You can still visit this website at Looble.com. So what?

Well, who was the first person to find the website and tell us about it? Remember at the time, I posted that I could not locate the website via search engines. That means, someone on IRC told us about it… How many of you think someone randomly typed in the URL and found the site, then ran onto IRC to tell us about it? Not me. What likely happened is the owner of Looble.com came onto IRC and told us about it… In fact, this person probably told us about it a lot and probably started most of the joke-conspiracy theories which then set us into an explosion of discussions on the topic.

Eventually we forgot about the whole thing. I mean, we can only talk about one topic for so long! Still, someone was paying for the website and took the time to get us talking about it on IRC. We never figured out why. We never even cared to think about it in the sense that we were probably having these discussions with the person who created the site… We all just figured someone told someone who told someone eventually leading to us discussing it. Maybe that’s really the case, but still I can’t find any other discussions about Looble.com on bulletin board systems or anywhere!

So back to the point of why this is interesting… A few months later, a user on IRC using the name Justin King makes the channel #Looble. He is AFK in the channel as we type and really has not said a thing besides initially advertising the channel. For what purpose was this done? That’s the mystery.

Is this channel in anyway related to the first Looble.com conspiracy discussions? Is Justin King the one who started those discussions in order to make this second appearance more popular? We discovered Justin King has a music album named Le Bleu which sounds all too much like Looble. Is the Justin King idle on IRC the musician, trying to market his album? Does he also own the Looble.com website? Why does it still only say Looble… Looble on Looble.com? WTF? lol

Since we are all still pretty clueless as to what, if anything, is going on, perhaps we should say a bit more on his album in case anybody can decipher any clues that could be helpful:

The name Le Blue was the name of the street Justin King lived on during his childhood and was therefore the inspiration for the album title. The album was released in 2001, and was only available on his website, since he was not signed to a label at the time. The album consists of 19 tracks.

Has this mystery therefore boosted visits to his site and increased sales? Well, as we’ve mentioned, the channel on IRC does not link anywhere and people rarely join a channel on IRC to web search the names of those operating the room. Still, here we are posting about it, and it’s been brought up enough that I am sure traffic has increased over at that site!

For now, I’ll be sitting idle in #Looble, waiting for anther update on this Looble mystery! Hopefully it won’t take another two months like last time! Could it still be coincidence that this website, basically void of content, has come up in the news again…
