<description>I have a background monitoring and testing web applications in a Data Center. I feel PHP will be a good coice to get me into web application programming and to me the types of jobs are more stimulationg than just doing stuff for windows. I want to be able to do a lot of fun stuff. I am using the sams teach yourself php/mySQL and Apache 4th edition because you get a lot of hands on projects. What should I do next to try to get work. Work on open source projects on some of the PHP sites or after going through the book with hands on exercises will that be enough to get entry level type work.</description>
