Wall Wars - Sat. 09/15/2007 @ 11 am EST - 2007/09/11 00:38 I will be holding a Wall Wars event beginning at 11 am eastern on Saturday September 15, 2007. (This Saturday)

Depending on the number of people that show up we will be able to run this for quite some time and we may be able to have a small tournament.

Any questions, please ask.

The objective is to destroy the enemies 5 walls while protecting you own. You may take turrets, plasmas, and sleepers into enemy territory or use them in your own area for defence. You MAY NOT place turrets, plasmas, and sleepers directly on a factory or a cc (your own or the enemies) but you may place them near by. This includes near the enemy cc preventing them from being able to respawn without dying. You may also not block access to a factory, there must be at least one tile open to all factories.

Re:Wall Wars - Sat. 09/15/2007 @ 11 am EST - 2007/09/16 16:07 I kicked off the Wall Wars event a little late as I had a few things to take care of.

There were only 3 or 4 players on for the longest time, and I subbed in an out as a player to keep things even.

The first few games we played were primarily to get a few players used to the setup and rules of the event.

I would say around 12:15 pm est or so, we ended up with two full teams of 4 players:

Kabal:
Zhantrim
crfrider
Lightning
bama

Buckland:
Alex2121
s33k3r
darkluigi07
Dark Sword

This game lasted quite some time with pressure being applied to both teams. There was a stuggle at the middle of the field for quite a while before each team tooks turns capturing the other teams plasma and sleeper factories. Both teams remained with 5 walls each for some time and it became obvious to a certain few players that getting the walls was not going to be an option. Kabal began applying pressure to Buckland's cc area but Buckland was able to shoot away turrets/plasma/sleepers many times. This continued for some time until Kabal was able to get turrets at the Laser/Bazooka factories and at the CC. Buckland was unable to respawn (if they did succeed they could not get to the Bazookas to help shoot away the turrets). Kabal appear to be having trouble getting to the walls even without defenders. While Kabal worked on the walls I asked if Buckland would wish to surrender, to which I was told "never." After some time I decided to call the game off giving victory to Kabal as Buckland was not able to do anything. Just as I began to send each team back to their own side to restart the event, Kabal was orbed by Posadas. At some point, Lightning, left Kabal and built or joined a city in Posadas and drove to Kabal and orbed it. Lightning was kicked from the game by myself as attacking an event is not an acceptable behaviour. After being orbed, Zhantrim (none admin account) orbed Posadas as payback.

The orbing of Kabal cleared off many of the players online but as I rebuilt the event new players showed up for Wall Wars:

Kabal:
Eclipse
crfrider
caez
Legend

Buckland:
Red4life
darkluigi07
schaaps
Jamason

I apoligize for not having a better recap of this event (but my mind focus more on the 3 city Wall War event that took place after - see next reply) but if I am not mistaken this game was even and the result was another surrender bu Buckland, giving Kabal the victory. While this game was going on the battlefield population began to rise quite high (some where around 16 or 17). I allowed (by way of summoning players to a safe spot) players to watch the event, and they kept telling me they all wanted to play. Well, there was only one way to accomadate this, set up a 3rd city. See next reply.

3 City Wall Wars - Sat. 09/15/2007 - 2007/09/16 16:27 The first 3 city Wall Wars event took place after 2 hours of regular Wall Wars.

As 2 of the city were setup it only took my 5 minutes or so to setup the 3rd city in Tallinn, except I made a boo boo and forgot to built each city around the others (allowing turrets to be placed anywhere) therefore I had to restart the event after 1 minute of being into it and fix the event.

When we did get started with all 3 cities in action we had 3 full teams (12 players) activly involved inthe event:

Tallinn:
rise against (morsmorde)
Prince
hardcore
OldSchool (Haxor_King)

Buckland:
(zhantrim)
(caez)
siggi (Batcho)
sickhead x

Kabal:
Eclipse (darkluigi07)
crfrider (Bartsie)
schaaps
Legend
Right away, Tallinn began to attack into Buckland's area and applied having pressure and 2 of Bucklands original players left (sorry, but I did not jot down the names). Kabal began to help Tallinn attack Buckland, and Tallinn ended up capturing Bucklands cc and factories, rendering them unable to do much. Just as Tallinn took out 2 of Buckland's Walls, Zhantrim and Caez joined Buckland. These 2 were not able to change much of the fate as neither were able to get to the Bazookas. Kabal begane to try to enter into Tallinn's area which meant that Tallinn had to defend Kabal off, during this period, Caez and Zhantrim worked together (one distracted the other ran for the Bazooka) to take out the turrets in Buckland's area. Buckland recovered and set up defense just as Tallinn broke back into Buckland's area.

At the point the game became very fun for some and fun and frusterating for others.

All 3 cities began to battle at the middle of the field, the opening between each of the cities. The deaths were stacking up, everyone was killing and dying. This went on for close to 30 minutes, each city bringing the majority of there turrets to the opening to try to capture the middle, and the ability to enter into the other cities area. I asked if it would be acceptable to create 2 opening into each cities area, and I received mixed responses so I left it as is. Players began to leave, to which new players joined (players in brackets above). I became focused on trying to keep 4 players in each city, which turned out to be difficult to do, but we had 10 - 11 players involved for the majority of the event.

The middle area became a stalemate so I created another opening to each cities area. Buckland started to apply pressure to Tallinn's opening while Kabal primarily defending the opening to their area.

I think crfrider, as mayor, lagged out but did not leave the game which caused Kabal to have only 2 players active for some time. (I fired crfrider to allow others to join, but it appeared the outside players were more invovled in regular gameplay) I therefore joined Kabal to try to even things up.

Kabal began to move into Buckland's area while Buckland was focused on attacking Tallinn. At this point, Buckland had Zhantrim, Caez, Batcho, and sickhead X and they ended up taking out the 5 walls at Tallinn.

In Kabal, darkluigi07, Eclipse, and Bartsie fought hard to move into Buckland's area. The battle went back and forth with the focus for each team being on capturing the other teams plasma and sleeper factories. After 10 minutes Buckland appled too much pressure to Kabal. Buckland took charge of Kabal's plasma and sleeper facs and without the use of these to defend Kabal became unable to hold their walls. Buckland took out the 5 walls at Kabal.

Buckland went from being the first team to loose walls to taking out all of the other walls in play.

The 4 players in Buckland; Zhantrim, Caez, Batcho, and zickhead x were rewarded with points as victors of the first 3 city Wall Wars event.

3 City Wall Wars - Sat. 09/15/2007 - 2007/09/16 16:28 The battlefield population made it up to 22 players at one point during the 3 city Wall Wars event.

Good job to everyone on the battlefield, both in the event and outside the event. No problems were encountered and I think it was a very successful event.

I have 2 images of the event but can't seem to get them to post. I will keep trying.

Re:3 City Wall Wars - Sat. 09/15/2007 - 2007/09/16 19:24 I am not exactly sure what your post means but I will explain that the peoples names in brackets mean they joined the game after it started and they took the spot of the players infront of their name.

Ie, Morsmorde took the spot of Rise.
