Details and Rules - What you need to know. - 2007/07/25 21:32 Introduction

The CDC is a contest to see who can come up with the best design for a certain city. But wait, dont stop there until you hear about the benefits of the CDC. Not ONLY will you become an expert in city design and building, but if you win you can get a free city rental for a month. Join in on the fun!

Design Rules to Follow

-Your city MUST have the following: 13 houses, 12 factories, 12 researches (I WILL count)
-A hospital is optional, for some cities do not need them
-Please, LABEL YOUR FACTORIES!! Reearches are optional, but highly reccomended!!
-Lay ALL turrets, walls, and mines! (you won't be docked, but obviously you want all these in your city!)

How The Competition Works

1. Contestants will come up with a design using the City Design Tool by Hanzie.
2. They will then save a JPEG of this design and submit the file to battlecitydesign@gmail.com
3. These JPEGs will be submitted on the site next to a voting poll, where you will vote for your favorite one.
4. Please do not vote for your own design, your vote WILL be discarded and you will receieve a negative vote.
5. Player who submitted the design receiving the most votes wins!
6. The prize is one month free city rental from the BC Store for the city designed.

Re:Details and Rules - What you need to know. - 2007/10/10 01:20 Are 13 houses really necessary?

I have submitted designs with only 12 and never been told that it was an issue. I just re-read this now and realized you are requesting 13.

A city only needs 12 to fully populate all other buildings unless there is a hospital.

Can I assume that 12 houses is acceptable?

Re:Details and Rules - What you need to know. - 2007/10/10 14:59 The rule for having 13 houses was written from day one of the competition because originally it was required that a hospital be part of your design.

Now that a hospital is optional, I assume you require 13 houses if you place a hospital or 12 if you don't

Re:Details and Rules - What you need to know. - 2007/10/11 01:22 The problem with that is even some people lay down an extra house (inside there city) which isn't populated so when an enemy blows a house on the outside, the empty one populates and you save your buildings from being shot.

I will keep the houses at 13.

Re:Details and Rules - What you need to know. - 2007/10/12 00:13 I dont see why we should be required to have an unpopulated house.

If that is the case then my designs will invalid.

Re:Details and Rules - What you need to know. - 2007/10/12 06:15 I am not requiring you to have the extra house. I am saying you have that option if you would like to because that is the way some people mayor!

IMO extra house is noobish. It makes it much harder to control your factory populations. Secondly, it makes it impossible to rapidly rebuild/repopulate a bombed house.

Agreed. None of my designs use permanent hospitals.
