Quickie Gauntlet 6/29/07 - 2007/06/30 06:56
The player count was low (me) so I put together a spiral gauntlet in Annaba. The players had to navigate corridor upon corridor of death. Along the way, there were rooms to enter and defeat. My favorite was the regenerating turret room. There were only two squares that permitted entry. Once players entered, they were walled in with ~20 walls or so and then a plasma was dropped in the center. Players had to weave back and forth while their teammates shot the turret. Unfortunately, the turret kept respawning, so they players had to keep pushing forward or they would never succeed. Eventually, teamwork ruled the day!
The majority of the gauntlet was completed by Andorra which had Testament, H20, someone else and Kaboom! Unfortunately for them, they were orbed not once, but twice by huambo. They made the mistake of assuming hbo was respecting their participation in the gauntlet! With them out of the way, hbo stormed in for the easy victory. The people in hbo when the orb dropped were TissueIssue, Darklord, Tankinator and Evil (I think).
Congratulations to the victors, though they didn't get to experience much of the fun.
Net effects? 50 points, 1 hour of fun, server pop spike of +12.
